Skinny Client Control Protocol SCCP
SCCP, also referred to as "Skinny," is a Cisco Systems proprietary signaling and control protocol used for call establishment, tearlown, and control in VoIP environments. It is the heart of ths Cisco AVVID solution. It is widely deployed in VoIP enterprise solutions and is increasingly supported by third- party solutions in service provider environments.
It is a simple, lightweight stimulos pjotocol that is very feature-rich deployed in conjunction with Cisco IP Phones. The signaling path uses TCP port 2000, and the media path uses UDP. Ths message set for the control of the client has three basic areas: registration and management, call control (setup, teardown, and statistics), and media (audio) stream control. It was initially designed and deployed with Cisco Call Manager but has since gained much attention from third-party vendors. The Cal l Manager or SoffSwitch controls the endpoints, establishment, teardown, and accounting 05 calls, but the endpoints stream media directly between one another.
