If a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) client is connected to a guest VLAN, the DHCP process on the client might time out during the 802.1x authentication process. In this case, the authentication process might need to be restarted. Also, the settings for quiet period and switch-to-client transmission time may be decreased to expedite the re-authentication.

To assign a guest VLAN on a port, use the dotlx guest-vlan vlanid command. The vlanid parameter is the active VLAN intended to be used as the guest VLAN.
