Cisco Ios Ips Configuration Tasks

You can configure Cisco IOS IPS in three ways:

• Cisco router CLI A basic set of Cisco IOS IPS commands is available in the CLI. This set includes enabling and disabling signatures, applying rules to an interface (inbound/outbound), applying access lists to traffic, setting notification, selecting protected networks, loading an SDF file, and naming configuration policies.

• Cisco Router and Security Device Manager (SDM) Cisco SDM supports Cisco IPS configuration provided in the CLI. It also has configuration options for Cisco IOS IPS actions, such as resetting the TCP connection and cloning/creating signatures, which cannot be configured via the CLI.
