Some T1 channel service units (CSUs), or Multiplexers (Muxes), allow the end user to map channels to different timeslots on the DTE, or equipment, side of the device. For instance, in the previous example, KimCo could have voice services provisioned on channels 1 to 8. BicAislNet could map those channels to different timeslots on the DTE side of the T1 CSU/Mux. In these cases, the significance of proper documentation by both parties cannot be stressed enough.
