ACS also provides a way to clone posture-validation rules. You might wonder why this would be useful. Let me illustrate by continuing with the last example. We were just discussing the alternate way of checking multiple Windows OSes for a single hotfix—by creating a unique rule for each OS. Cloning would help here because after creating the first rule, you could just clone it and then edit the rule to change the OS. This saves a few steps in the policy-creation process.
To clone a rule, select Internal Posture Validation Policy and then select the link for the rule you want cloned. Click the Clone button at the bottom of the page to create a copy of the existing rule. Next, select the new cloned rule and edit it accordingly.
An entire policy can also be cloned by selecting the policy and then clicking the Clone button at the bottom of the page.
