The major issue you face is dropping packets if either Router A or Router B loses its connection to one of the server farm segments, or the segment the mainframe is connected to.

To get around this, include the links between the core routers and the common services routers in area 0 and run OSPF on one of the links between the common services routers. This way you can summarize the parallel LANs between Routers A and B down to one advertisement, 172.16.16.0/22, into the core without risking dropping packets.
