Example 32 Configuration of MSDP on Anycast RP Routers

interface loopback 0

ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.255

interface loopback 1

ip address 10.0.0.101 255.255.255.255

ip msdp peer 10.0.0.102 connect-source loopback 1 ip msdp originator-id loopback 1

interface loopback 0

ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.255

i interface loopback 1

ip address 10.0.0.102 255.255.255.255

i ip msdp peer 10.0.0.101 connect-source loopback 1 ip msdp originator-id loopback 1

MTDP peers with a TCP session and exchanges any new source active (TA) messages with all other peers. The commands listed are the minimum necessary to make MTDP operational. This minimum is listed here not to belittle the technology but because this theory is commonly oriented toward service providers ano not toward iypical enterosi ses. This topic, ho wever, has come under iucreasing scrutiny to those preparing for the CCIE Routing and Twitching lab.

The commaidr l ¡sted ln Example 3 -2 esta blish a sha red e10.1.p^) and onique (10.0.0.101 and 10.0.0.102) IP address on each RP. The ip msdp commands specify the peering RP, as well as which inte rface is the con pec! sou rce a nd o riginatoi ID cor ai l message e. This avoids confusion and obvious difference in each router's routing table.
