With the introduction of technologies to integrate data with voice and video, a network designer must consider the time-sensitive nature of these applications. Packet voice introduces the ability to bypass toll charges by using the data network as a voice transport for telephone calls. When designing for video applications, consider using multicasting to reduce the amount of duplicate unicast traffic on the network.
