• You can configure advanced MED parameters to modify the default MED behaviors. For example, the bgp always-compare-med command forces the router to compare the MED even if paths came from different autonomous systems.

• The MED is displayed in show commands as the metric field.

• The MED that was stored in the BGP table after processing the incoming route-map is displayed in the output of the debug ip bgp update command.
